Anneliese Peebles Gonzalez
Anneliese Peebles Gonzalez is a wood carver based in Santiago, Chile. She was inspired to start carving Celtic designs by George Bain’s book 'Celtic Art: The Methods of Construction'. The designs are carved from the wood of the Rauli tree, a native of Chile. A large design like this one takes more than 100 hours work - and there’s no hiding from mistakes!
Anneliese's piece ‘Plate P from the Book of Kells’ is on display in the museum until the end of October.
