GUIDED WALKS 1-3rd MAY 2010

COME AND JOIN A CONDUCTED WALK TO CAIRD'S CAVE NEAR ROSEMARKIE !

On Saturday 1st, Sunday 2nd and Monday 3rd May, volunteers from Groam House Museum in Rosemarkie will be leading walks to Caird's Cave on the coast north of Rosemarkie. The walks are being organised by the museum as part of the Show Scotland weekend and also to coincide with the opening of an exciting new exhibition at Groam House Museum about Dr William Maclean, a local collector who excavated one of the Rosemarkie coastal caves 100 years ago and whose finds can be seen in the exhibition in the museum.

The walks will be suitable for families (stout footwear and suitable clothing should be worn).

Each walk will start at the Museum and will depart at 3 pm each day but we suggest that you come to the museum from 2 - 2.30 pm onwards in order to see the exhibition on Dr MacLean and his finds. The museum will stay open each day after the walks to give more time to see the new exhibition (as well as the permanent exhibition of Pictish stones) and to visit our well stocked shop that specialises In Celtic art, jewellery and books.

SATURDAY 1 MAY, SUNDAY 2 MAY & MONDAY 3 May

3 pm Depart Groam House Museum for guided walk along coastal path to Caird’s Cave ( about one mile each way). Find out about the geology and wildlife of the area and hear about Dr MacLean and his excavation. Suitable for families. Return to museum approx 4.30 pm.

WALKS ARE FREE BUT WE WOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR DONATIONS TO OUR INDEPENDENT MUSEUM
